Spiza Americana

It has been a very busy spring and work has kept me away from the upper Texas coast for most of the spring so it was especially nice to get out yesterday to do some birding at Brazos Bend SP as well as several locations in Brazoria County. It was also great to meet up with my friend Sandy Kroeger who I hadn’t seen in a while. From the looks of things it has been a very wet spring resulting it tons of beautiful green. This Dickcissel was singing up a storm and gave us some nice close looks. It was fairly windy but we still managed some nice photos.
