Coccyzus minor

One of our top target birds for the Florida trip is the Mangrove Cuckoo and today we were treated to a great experience with one. The bird foraged in the mangroves for at least 15 minutes as we watched and took photos. The high point for me was when the bird grabbed this tree frog (would love to know what species) and thrashed it around for a bit before swallowing it. Everyone in the group was delighted and I think we all agreed it was the favorite bird of the day.
