Platalea ajaja
We see lots of Roseate Spoonbills here in Texas but even in Costa Rica with all of its beautiful tropical birds the spoonbill still stands out. We were on a boat for this shot which made it easy to get eye-level shots and I believe also allowed us to get very close for a head shot.
