My friend Michael and I went down to the Rio Grande Valley a few days ago with the intention of getting some photos of Green Jays and with that in mind I decided to make a personal challenge to get a photo of one in mid flight. So far I haven’t ever really gotten a shot of one flying (shots of one taking off or one landing on a feeder don’t really count in this personal challenge). Every time I saw one flying during our three days along the Rio Grande I tried to get a shot. This was one of my favorites of the bunch. I find having intention and making personal challenges really helps keep things exciting and pushes us to get better photos.
