Pyrocephalus rubinus
No amount of photos of Vermilion Flycatchers seems to be enough to make me tired of taking more. I just find them to be so beautiful and this spectacular male from west Texas last month is as pretty as any I have ever seen. We found him at the end of the day and the light was fading fast. I was just about to give up since the light was almost gone and the bird REALLY liked perching on a nearby sign that just wasn’t the setting that I was after. Just as I opened the car door to leave he flew up and landed on this fantastic perch.
