Nyctanassa violacea
I photographed this young Yellow-crowned Night-Heron one afternoon back in September at Brazos Bend State Park. I thought the reflection of the yellowing vegetation made for a great background. Yellow-crowned Night-Heron is a common breeder at the park during the summer but as soon as they are done they all disappear. This past weekend I was out at the park and couldn’t find a single one.
