Podilymbus podiceps

This pair of Pied-billed Grebes was hanging out in the same area as the Least Grebe last week down in Weslaco. It was fun and relaxing to sit by the pond and watch the grebes foraging. At one point one of the Pied-billed Grebes repeatedly picked up a stick and drop it back in the water. It almost seemed to be playing. I don’t know what was really going on but it definitely was entertaining to watch.
