The biggest event of the annual gay pride in Amsterdam, is the canal parade. I was invited to photograph (on) one of the women boats, the 'Trotse Lesboot.'* I made photos from the beginning of the day, when women were decorating the boat untill the end, when everyone was tired of dancing, yelling, singing and showing to be proud. The organisation of the boat wanted to show lesbians and bisexual women in all their diversity, young, old, black, white, colored, feminine, butchy/tough. And of course I shot some of the other boats as well. *'Trots' means 'proud'. 'Lesbo' means 'lesbian', and 'boot' means 'boat', that makes 'lesboot' :-)
