On the evening that we had tickets for a Broadway show, a storm blew in with wind and heavy rain. There was suddenly a cottage industry in selling cheap umbrellas. My daughter bought one and it lasted through about 4 cycles of being opened and closed, and then wouldn't open any more. The trash bins were full of dead, cheap umbrellas, most of which had been destroyed by the wind.
