Tripods are not normally allowed because of the trip-hazard and just the fact that they can get in the way. I was shooting at ISO 2000, which allowed handheld shooting, but at the cost of a bit of sharpness. I even shot some shots with my cellphone, which does a decent job in low light, but doesn't have the same image quality of a larger sensor.
