SP4 Ken Neal and Irma, KIA 24 March '68

SP4 Ken Neal was the medic for Bravo Co. 2/2nd Infantry, 2nd Platoon. Ken was a brave guy and a good medic. He was well-liked and respected by the soldiers he cared for and by his fellow medics. When CPT Sonny Gratzer was blown out of the turret of his track and suffered a spinal cord injury, Ken got to him, despite the danger, and cared for him until he could be dusted off. Irma was Ken's constant companion. They were known and recognized throughout the battalion.

Ken and Irma, together, were killed by a VC mine.
