Construction of a Tornado Tilt Trailer

Here are some pics of the construction of a Tornado trailer my Dad & I designed/built. Construction is out of aluminum alloy T-6061, 2x4x1/8 and 3x3x1/8" sections. A single winch post is used to lift the boat up via a line tied off at the forebeam/hull connection point. Hull is lifted until the top of the beam contacts a shaped wooden chock bolted to the top of the winch post. Key advantages of this design are the ability to carry a boat in both the tilted or dismantled configuration; the ability to carry two boats at once (one dismantled below a tilted boat, or both dismantled); the ability to use the trailer as a launch platform; essentially no trailer bending stresses applied between the two hulls.
