Spending as much time as you did on lighting these subjects and getting these angles and shots in focus, it's a bit creepy. But, that's what makes great photographs- passionate and obsessed people. Cyrus, I was going to say that this is a world class macro gallery. But that would not do it justice. Your macro work is in a class of its own. This is not amongst finest I have seen. It IS the finest I have seen! You have the complete package here - outstanding lighting, huge patience, fantastic eye, perfect composition and expert processing. There really is no finer work than these. You have inspired me in my own macro shots. When I shoot, I think "How would Cyrus do this?" It makes me produce a better photo! But I don't think I could get near to your standards in a lifetime. Thank you for collecting so much great work together in one place. I shall keep returning to this as a reference collection.

It is NOT because I don't want to share. As a matter of fact, that's all I have been doing lately. I have been asked about my colors and what my approach is to getting them. If that is a question for you as well, please read this: http://flickr.com/groups/mega_shots/discuss/72157600053451347/ About my equipment, I have several bodies and I'm still deciding on which one is best suited for what. I find myself most with my Fuji S3 in hand. as far as the lens go, I have several and I'm testing Canon MP-E 65 as well. I do find myself reaching for my longer lens, almost, all the time. This is particularly for extreme macros and beyond 1:1 . For DOF questions, I DO move often beyond diffraction and way beyond difraction, depending on the subject. For that, you may want to look at this link: http://flickr.com/groups/mega_shots/discuss/72157594560223963/ Also, you may consider your subject's position and play with your focal plain and get DOF where it matters most. You can also get the appearance of more DOF, a little bit, in your post process sharpening. .
