Cusco and the Sacred Valley

Our trip began in the city of Cusco, in Peru's Andean highlands. Cusco is not only the gateway to Machu Picchu, but also a beautiful city in its own right, and the nearby Urubamba River Valley -- the Inca "Sacred Valley" -- is full of breathtaking scenery and Inca monuments.
