HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN

The Hawaiian Chieftain was built of steel in Hawaii in 1988 as a replica of a typical European merchant trader of the turn of the nineteenth century. She was originally designed for cargo trade among the Hawaiian Islands. The vessel is 103' 9" long with a beam of 22' and a draft of 5' 6". The main mast is 75'. Designed by Raymond Richards she was built by the Lahaina Welding Co. in Lahaina, Hawaii. She is now owned by the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority and sails along the west coast of the US throughout the year.
