Bow Legs

Rule: No elements that compete for attention
Justification: This image is composed of a single, repeated
element. The fact that all the highlights and shadows remain
the same, with each repeat, causes the eye to jump from equal
bright spot to equal bright spot, pulling the viewer through
the pattern, giving it motion.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
1/30s f/5.6 at 34.0mm iso640 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thank you, Kelly! Black and white was much more effective here. I had issues with the background - the angle of the repeat left space between each repetition of the image (think spreading out six playing cards in a circle, you see a triangle of the table top between each card). This was problematic because there wasn't enough carpet background to clone in a believable manner, as there was much perspective falloff and some shadows to contend with. I just couldn't get a good enough piece to sample from. Bringing it to black resolved all that. Besides, being a pattern shot, it calls for BW, as color would only detract from it. BTW, the judge at my club, who gave it the highest score, BTW, couldn't figure out what it was! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Lonnit - This is wonderful! - It's so wonderful that it made me forget about the challenge! Did you also try this in color? And if it wasn't for the eyes rolling into the backs of so many heads, your marvelous creation causes me to think of the next challenge: TESSELLATIONS! - Kelly

LOL! Well, they're the easiest part of me to shoot while holding the camera! LOL! Anything else and I have to put it on a tripod, attach the interval timer, and take 150 shots to get a decent one! ~ Lonnit

You are a strange one. Quite the obsession for legs. Very nice. John
