Broken Mirror

Badwater (Death Valley)

Rules Broken: Rule of thirds. The mirror effect is broken by lack of water.
Justification: Wanted to capture a mirrored landscape scene for this challenge. Placing the horizon centered works best for this. Took various takes of this scene with varying composition/exposure combinations. Liked this the best for the lack of full mirror effect (hence the title).

I too, like John, was puzzled at the abrupt line of the water. Nice optical illusion.

Wait a minute I see it. This is all water. Its just that the reflection of the hill to the right is much more powerful than the reflection of sky. The effect is great. I thought I was looking at a dry lake bed with a wet line of water. John

RK, does the water really just stop like this? I don't think I understand what I am seeing. It is very unusual behavior. I do like the effect though. John

Qualified. I like the two-tone palatte. ~ Lonnit
