6th: bound by Armin

too busy, bg is competing for attention with the main subject,
...but imho it helps to express the 'horror' here

Hmm.. seems more crowded now. I think maybe you miscropped. I'd like some off the top so the body lies directly on the lower thirds line. If you cropped any off the right edge, you need to bring it back, readjusting to get the arms on the right hand line of thirds. ~ Lonnit

What - cropping me out is the solution already? :o)
Thanks again, Lonnit, tried another tighter crop, so now the picture is updated!

Your very close to the rule of thirds. Remember, smash, don't tinkle. It's not quite far enough off it to really be breaking it. A minor crop would land it smack on. The white lines, dots, and fabric on the floor all compete for equal attention. I find myself distracted by all that white, when the real subject is the person. I do not believe this breaking of the rules has enhanced the image, in fact I believe it detracts or rather distracts from it. There is NO empty space, so you're not saving your hide on that. I don't know where you think you have empty space, but you don't. I will allow this only on the "busy" rule. Perhaps it does add to the mood. What I do believe is that if you were to re-crop to get this spot on to the rule of thirds, it would be a much stronger image - it's strength would come from the composition adhering to the thirds, which helps us stay focused on the subject, which is desperately needed when competing with all the busy-ness around it. As it stands, I'm too distracted. Give me a solid base of thirds composition and I can tolerate the breaking of the busy rule. THEN this becomes a very strong image with a strong statement. Don't weaken your image by breaking more than the essential rules needed to make your point. Breaking more, needlessly, doesn't improve the image. The broken thirds only weakens the image and makes it feel sloppy. I don't want that because it is a most excellent image! Allow it it's power by cropping to the rule of thirds. Qualified ~ Lonnit

hmm.. not really sure what I'm looking at here, but you've created a very interesting scene that is unnervingly transfixing! ...I'm just glad I'm not your neighbour ;)

At first I didn't get it .. the scale that is. Once I saw it was human, I was horrified having just rented a kidnapping movie last night. Very strong and very different from you sweeping colors which I was just getting to know you by. John
