Another lovely image from your church Mary Anne, and great leading lines too! :-) CJ

Thanks for the tip, Rod. I had never thought of that. If there's a secure horizontal surface like a railing or tabletop or large rock I often set the camera on a hat or glove or something soft to absorb any vibrations and use the timer, but the continuous mode sounds as if it would work well.

I don't know if it's obvious & others do it but just lately on slow shutter speed shots, like you I've braced myself against a tree or whatever & instead of clicking the shutter button for each picy which makes the camera move a bit I have the machine gun mode turned on. So I click the button & hold it down & get a couple of shots without risk of moving the camera by having to press the button..

No tripod here, John. I just braced myself against the railing, held my breath, and hoped for the best. Not as good as a tripod, but passable. And it was shot before anyone else was there. Tommy, I never thought of pairing the two shots...now you've given me an idea for something contrasting the glorious interiors of these churches with the tenements surrounding them.

This one and the following are a poignent study in contrasts between the historical glory of the church and the financial struggles of many. They need to be seen side by side for maximum impact. Lets go back to the 2 on 1. Excellent little essay, Mary Anne. -tv

Wow Mary Anne, you brought your tripod and camera to church on Sunday. What dedication to the shot. It is quite good. I'm hoping this was before services. John

Thank you, Tom, Shu, Rod, and Doug. This church is perfectly situated to catch the early-morning sun through the beautiful stained glass windows, and I love the play of light on the interior architecture.

Good catch Mary Anne. This would also have been a perfect shot for the stained glass mini challenge from a while back. -COAmature
