Hehe, Armin posting a beautiful off topic flower picture, then manipulating Rod to leave it off Pending :-) /Oved

If there's one expression I really dislike it's ""let the voters decide"":-) I would have to be colour blind for those feint OOF lines around the shot to grab my eyes before the red to lead me in. That great red blob with the yellow centre is an eye magnate mate, it's irrelevant what the lines do after we're at the centre...............I think:-)

I placed a few more shots of 'her' in pending :o)

:o) I still see many pinkish lines leading at least my eye into the yellow hairy
center; BUT, it's your challenge, mate, and therefore, your decision: either let
the voters decide, or you do the host job :o)
Cheers, Armin

From my understanding a leading line is to take us into the shot not a device to keep our eyes on a certain spot. You have used many feint lines here as a compositional tool not as a leading line.
Tommy describes it as ""blurring" the rules, pushing the envelope, transitioning to the abstract"" When Tommy describes any shot like that I know it has to be off topic:-)

There is another effect other than leading lines pulling me back center. I see the leading lines in the yellow/white area but I think it's the bokeh that is doing all the work. Either way it's a darn good flower shot. -COAmature

Thanks, tv. :o)
Lydia, Rod - the idea is, that nothing will distract the eye to go to the red part of the flower - and on the contrary, all the outer white and yellow lines lead the eye into the center - try it, if you dare to look away from the red they bring the eye right back. :)
The yellow part and pinkish lines of the center direct the eye into the middle, the yellow hairy part.
Or look directly into the center spot, you will recognize that all lines (white, yellow, red, pinkish) support your eye staying there...imho
Cheers, Armin

Armin seems to like "blurring" the rules, pushing the envelope, transitioning to the abstract. Not yer normal flower shot - this is a lovely and creative sight. -tv

I really like this shot.. it's fascinating. But, my eyes go straight to the red and have to be pryed off to get them to look at the center yellow. No lines are helping me... But I really like it. *smile* ~Lydia

Erm scuse me ignorance but where's the leading line:-)
