Thanks, Tommy, Rod and Lonnit. The crystal ball was a gift so I don't know how much it did cost but I am sure it was much cheaper than a fish eye. Lonnit, the starburst is real. I did not note this interesting effect when I took the picture but only when I saw the images (but I did feel how the concentrated sun rays burnt my skin when I inadvertently held the sphere in a way that they could reach my skin, ouch!) Sorry about the sensor spots, normally not really a problem but at f/22, they are getting obvious; I wonder why I overlooked them. I have cloned them out now. -Gerald

Very nicely done, Gerald! LOVE the starburst of light on the ball (is it real?). I will admit to be distracted by all the little bits of dirt, though. Is that all on your sensor? ~ Lonnit

I was thinking the same as Tommy the image in the glass is clearer than the L lens picys here:-) Excellent shot Gerald it really works mate:-)

Great idea. A poor man's fisheye lens (hmm.. very clear glass maybe not so cheap). -tv
