Looks like there is a light inside the flower. -COAmature

Thanks Rod :) I must have "accidently" clicked on the blending options -> bevels... but it looks good init? ;-) -Cat

Looks very good now Cats. Did something happen when you cropped this as I can see funny dark to light lines around it.......weird a:-)

Thank you all for very constructive feedback. Very interesting observation this time around!
This is my final version, the colors are most nearer to the original on this one.
Changes I have done since V1 and V2:
I have saturated V1 a little bit more (added the missing yellow too), softened it a little bit to reduce the fine wrinkles (but not as much as V2), left the thick ones alone. Left the brightness same as before as the light from the top makes the flower appear almost translucent, which I liked. (V2 is oversaturated and does not have the translucence, although its lot more softer than V1)

Hope you all like this final version. (Its a compromise between V1 and V2, as Brent suggested) And thanks again for the lively discussion.

Hmmm, I guess I like both images for different reasons. Since the crowd seems to be evenly divided on which they like best, maybe you should edit something between the two looks and go with that? If you keep this one be sure and remove that little blip down in the left corner. Nice work Cat.

I agree with Rod and Henry that this the better of the two. And the other one is not too bad of a photo on its own.
Rod 17-Feb-2007 07:02
I think I like this one as its loving the light, nicely shot Cats:-)

Both versions are much improved. I think I like this one better than V2 because the bottom of the other one is a little dark.

Thanks RK and Mary Anne,
Actually I already have a version with both your suggestions incorporated. But then it does not have these fine details as in this one. I will post that version and I'll what I can do to repair this one. :)

Lovely colors and light, Cat, but I agree with RK. I'd also try to do something about the BHs along the top of the petals.

Great light and background. The bottom of the image seems a bit cluttered...I would have isolated the flower bit more.
