9 June 2006 Christina Conroy

Entry*

Southern California

I'm not sure if this fits the topic or not, it's kind of inside and kind of outside.
(It's a patio.)
And I'm not sure it's a landscape.
I'm happy to remove it if it's off topic.

Thanks Yvonne and CJ! I'm just happy to have something even remotely on topic for this challenge. It was tough for me!

Thanks Jano and Techo. This is what happens when I submit late at night on the last week of the quarter. Way too many things on my mind. You should find all the problems fixed now! Thanks for the reminders!

With all the lines and shapes here, tends to make a nice abstract of sorts.

I must mention the oversized file of 350,300bytes , if you can please repost a shot under 153,600bytes, that'd be great so we dont have to move this to Pending ;)
You can squeeze down the file size by resizing the image dimensions to under 800x600, also makes for easier web viewing.

Thanks

-Techo :)

The noise is certainly gone now and it IS a pleasant image - the lines are fantastic and if there is just a wall there, then you did good with the composition just as is. I cannot wait for the day when I get a dslr too :) Speaking of cameras, I noticed that you don't have yours posted!!! (which you have to do here in eligible) shhh jano

Thanks jano. I cleaned up the noise. I just got NeatImage literally the day before yesterday and kind of forgot about this. I hate postprocessing and so don't usually use it, but I guess it levels the playing field between you "fancy camera" users and those of us who can't afford them yet!

I wish there was another shot that had more of the bottom, but there really wasn't much to see. It got boring really fast. If I tilted down at all it's just a wall. Maybe a glass door too. But not aesthetically pleasing. I'll go out if I get time in the next few days and try to reshoot it and see if I can MAKE it aesthetically pleasing! I'll beg a little.

Anyway, I think this is better at least noise wise!

This is a great image... I'm bothered by the noise that I'm seeing. I think what i would like to see is less view on the top with more towards the bottom if that were possible. Great lines though, and the roundness of the "balls" or whatever vs the hard lines really make this work. jano

Thanks Nicola, I'm going to endeavor to get something else in the gallery, but I'm really busy these days and I'm kind of surprised to have gotten this here. We'll see what comes of it.

Hi Christina, I think the picture is on topic in much the same way as stairs are. It's true, however, that I tend to think of landscapes as of something that extends in width rather than (or as well as) in depth. Great picture ! Nicola.
