Using photography can be very cathartic for you, especially when it involves so much emotion. I think you should frame this, but make sure you frame some happy times photos as well. You don't want to dwell on the sadness alone. Don't worry about what other people think (even though in this case it isn't bad!) when you do shots like this. These only matter to YOU and that's what's important here. Sending good thoughts your way, Britt :)
Thank you, Britt & Mary Anne. I had some friends suggest that I needed to put a few more happy photos in because it was too depressing. I had to explain that the idea was to convey my emotions and at the time, happy was not one of them. I had been going through a trunk of old photos from my mother's house. She is now in a nursing home with Alzheimer's, and Dad died 21 years ago from cancer. It was very sad for me to see how their lives had come full circle. I was looking at the photos and wishing I had paid more attention when my mother used to speak of her youth. At the time I wasn't interested. Now I would give anything to hear her talk about her childhood or even mine, but she doesn't even know me any more. I am thinking I might frame this photo and hang it in my bedroom. ~Sandy
