Thanks, Sharon. What you said is exactly why I've kept the lion despite its overexposure. And you should see how darkly shadowed the man is in the original! It took a bit of work in PSE to get this to where it is now.

I love this image, Mary Anne! I think the lion makes it, otherwise, it is just a picture of a guy sitting at a table, this gives it a sense of place. Great capture! ~Sharon
Rich and Britt, I guess I included the lion because it's one of the New York Public Library lions and kind of a landmark. At the same time, I have to agree that its brightness is a distraction. Maybe I'll try cropping some of it out, but then someone will probably ask why I cut off part of the statue. LOL

I love this guy's posture, but I do agree that the lion kind of takes the most notice in this scene, probably because of the amount of difference in lighting of the two. Not sure if you could crop it down a bit?
