Thanks Abstract! Glad you like it. They are fun and challenging to do. I try to learn something new each challenge.

This one I used my new off shoe flash chord and a mirror. Both presented their own challenges.

Great, to me it seems that these forks try to extract from the place where they meet something very important but invisible, Great placement of light too

Thanks Rod and Techo!

I love how you controlled the light's reflection and very much like the spotlight effect. Great job Lee! :-)

Even though me & Gayle are not into graphics this is very good Lee, well done:-)

Thanks Lonnit! It is kind of funny how ideas evolve. I was playing with my hands together to see if I could get any interesting angles. Then they reminded me of two forks. Got the forks and then put them on a black board. I was not getting enought interest and angles from that. Then I grabed a big mirror that we used to have in our foyer. theFly

Just wonderful! ~ Lonnit

Thanks Shu! I put my flash on a off shoe chord. Then bounced off a black foam core board behind the mirror. theFly

I especially like the way you did the lighting! Very effective. Shu

Thanks Nugar, Cat and Richard.

Cat I posted the technique on the forum thread.

Nugar, I will try to get rid of them in photoshop. I tried and tried in the camera and could not make it happen.

Actually, Lee has shared it with us. It is a quite simple yet effective technique of conversion. In fact, it is easier to do than to explain. Basically, you would add a gradient adjustment layer and choose the grayscale gradient. Works great.

Lee about this image, I like it a lot. I do have a nitpick, the double reflection produced by the glass is a tiny bit distracting, looks like too much sharpening yet it is not.

Nice composition. You should share with us your technique of bw from color. They come out very nice. -Cat

Thanks PhotoNut and Mary Ann! This picture was converted to B&W. theFly
PhotoNUT 19-Mar-2005 05:05
Great shot. Is that a B&W or color?
ctfchallenge19-Mar-2005 04:01
What a great shot! The tones and the focus are perfect, and the glow of light where the tines meet provides just the right amount of contrast. So simple and yet so elegant.
