The Original Statue of Liberty (*)

Paris, France

Here is the original size statue of liberty in Paris. The NY one is a much bigger copy of this one. The funny this is that the building behind the statue, are NY style, and it's the only place in Paris where you can find tall buildings (except La Defence, which is the Paris "Manhatan").
So this is a funny US-like place that is not represantative at all of the Paris architecture.

P.S. The more I shoot it, the more I love the 300D :)Got to buy one someday :p

The big problem is that the statue itself is not lit by any light source. The only way to have it bright is to wait for one of the tourist ships with big projectors, that give unfortunately sodium yellow/orange light and it's too bright and focused still more ot the tree :( and If I change the view point the statue gets blown by the bridge lightning. It's a shame that the Paris authorities had chosen to light the tree :( I might try perhaps a more tight crop, but it changes nothing to the tree, that I already darkened a little.

This is a beautiful shot, but it is the tree and water reflections that capture you attention, not the statue

Here is another version, more focused on the Statue itself, as suggested. Minor post-process on the sky and the overexposed tree.

Thanks for the comment Paul, I took about 20 shots of the place, and I found that the presence of the bridge is good actualy. Because when it's a closer shot, with the Statue in bigger plan, I cannot catch the buildings too, and I would like them to be there as background. Perhaps you may be right that I sould change the title in that case. I'll try to do some post-processing on the other shots, and maby will cut the bridge if looks better.

Tough scene to expose properly. I like the right two-thirds of the photo, but the bridge is way too bright. Since the statue is in the title, I probably would have emphasized it more in the image.
