River Rat *

I've had this little fella in pocket for days now waiting for the right moment.
Woke up to a hard frost and misty morning. I just had to stop off by the river
on my way to work to blag this moment!

I love the mood of this photo, very surreal and it compliment the expression of the stuffed animal.

Great mood in this one--the rat's expression complements the setting nicely. Is this guy related to "Left on the Shelf"? They seem to share some emotion.

Hey - you're back! The DOF is all in camera, it just looks even better because of the morning mist. I'll post the original untouched picture at the end (if I remember) so you can see before and after.

Oh - was the (amazing) DOF control done in camera or post processing - maybe tell me after if you would - keen to learn that.

Wow, wow, wow, and errr wow. Don't know why but this picture does it for me (no I don't have a thing for soft toys!). Maybe its extreme to say so but I think this is one of my favourite shots of yours Iso - probably partially for what Gayle said re: lots of your stuff being studio, high key (nothing wrong with that - all stunning stuff) but this is so different. Amazing - I even came out of hiding to comment :)

Can't add much except to say it's lovely. Glad you had your rat with you. This is the sort of shot I was hoping for with this challenge. Don

This is awesome iso. I am with Gayle that you have excelled in doing something different. The soft, dreamy background in itself is lovely. Casts a whole new aspect off this challenge.

Love this one... his sad-eyed expression fits the scene perfectly. Ann C

I like this for a number of reasons. First of all, it's a rare Isopic cos it's taken outside, and no matter how good studio photography is, the great outdoors really does it for me. Secondly, the soft, foggy background is beautiful in it's own right and you have captured the morning light perfectly. This would look equally good without the toy, or with a child or bird sitting on the post.

Great shot - I especially like the foggy background. Monochrome works very well here.
