Thanks John I like it better too for the reasons you articulated. -tv

It is amazing, Tom, how much more tense this picture compared to the other. All because you have an uncompleted pattern.

Thank you. Penny Street

I like this composition better than your recent one. I reiterate that a specular reflection can be a shadow but being a shadow doesn't make it a specular reflection. Since it is a specular reflection it qualifies and is a great shot.

I guess if the cones would have been red you would have cropped them out. The yellow and black do make the shot and the yellow cones add a little spice on top. Well seen. Re-submit for next shadow challenge.

Thanks all for the yellow appreciations. Not much pp here Doug but it was a drab day and I added a bit of sat to bring out the yellow which was virtually the only color in the shot, which is what made it worth shooting in the first place. -tv

I love the way the yellow line leads you through the frame to the scattering of cones. Nice image.

Very bright and contrasty which I love. Great reflection. Very artsy. jano

You know, I had the same question in mind, but then I figured that it's the final result that counts. Yellow works here, and we're not aiming for photojournalistic reality.

Penny would kill Tom if he did that Dougy a:-)

Plenty of reflections that play well in the picture. It's the prefect amount of yellow, and only yellow, that makes the shot for me. Did you PS those cones in the background yellow? -Doug

Good framing here, Tommy, with the yellow line across the bottom and then turning upward diagonally and pointing toward the yellow cones across the top. The reflection may be dark, but it was that kind of a day...and at least you went out taking pictures.

The yellows through the picy look fantastic & you have me wanting it to rain here now. The only problem I have wiv this picy is the reflection of the yellow cart looks more like a shadow, a reflection would reflect colours a. Great shot though.

Water water everywhere.... (around here, that is)... and the puddles make nice glossy reflections. Good job cheering things up with the matching yellow subjects. Penny Street
