All,
thank you very much for your comments. DT - I see your points and I can not say that I fully disagree with you. I set all and partially oof trying to reach a kind of morning-dreamy effect - you know - when one your eye is already open but the second one is still close :-) ? I think I got what I wanted but if the whole picture shot this way is good or not - this is an another question.
Anyway, I decided to keep it here while this is my very first shot with the new camera.

I'm not quite sure what to say when the whole shot is oof. I realize that you meant to do this and that you are skillfully able to shoot great shots. But, I wonder if you looked over someone's shoulder as they picked up their photos at a drugstore and saw this photo if you wouldn't think that's a bad photo. Please understand I'm not singling out this photo. I could point to all of mine and many others. I think this is a tough challenge! -dtallakson

We are so used to seeing razor sharp pet pictures that the softness here is actually a pleasing alternative. Nicely done. As for batteries. There is an eBay seller, HK Supplies I think, that has our Canon battery quite cheap. I'm not sure about the quality but the price is right. They also have battery grips, IR remotes, and such too. -Doug

Penny,
In most Singapore's shops the canon 5DMII batteries are out of stock as well but still you can find some. So, if you wish - I can send battery to you.

These new type of batteries don't have the memory problems of Ni Cad ones so you can charge it any time you like. So just make sure you go out with a fully charge battery if you're shooting all day.It won't be long before after market batteries come onto the market just don't buy the very cheapest & nasty ones. Canon ones are too expensive but you have some good online stores in the US that make or distribute good quality non Canon batteries. I bought some E Film batteries from Delkin, they have the 5D battery for $29 so when yours is available it may be a similar price. Here's the linky.

but I should only recharge when the battery is really low, right? Penny Street

Penny unlike your last camera where you throw it away when the batteries are flat, with the 5D11 you can take it out of the camera & charge it for a couple of hours:-)

Colors are great. I love the right side of the picture but I'm not so sure I wouldn't like the whole thing better if the cat's eyes were either totally in focus or more OOF.
It seems you were able to pick up the 5D fairly quickly. You'll probably learn faster than I am, too, since you already had the 40D and all the controls are pretty much the same.
I'm curious, can you get extra battery packs too and, if so, can you send me one? In the US nobody has them. Penny Street

I would like to see it with 25% of the right side cropped, just leaving a hint of a face.

Brent, Carol, Rod

thank you for your coments. This is my first and so far the last photo with a new camera (lens are not new, just seldom used). Rod - just a bit noise reduction and only on the face. It seems to me the 5DMII really manages well high iso.

Very nicely done Konstantin, it turned out really good. Did you have to do much noise reduction?

Very cute Konstantin and as Brent said, great colors with your new camera and lens! CJ

Love the dreamy effect of this Konstantin. The colors look really great and this is one of the few without some sharp area I really like a lot. Hope you are having fun with the new camera- you did great with it here :-)
