White whips a.....I might just vote for this picy now:-)

So you admit an attraction to chains a Rod? Whips too? Anyway I agree the chain is a bit strong but it quickly melts into the general oof to my eye which is lead back by the ropes. So...just think of them as white whips. -tv

I like the ropes leading your eye to the boat. I think the chain is a bit of a distraction. -dtallakson

The picy is very good but that chain just leads me straight out of the left side of the picy. The ropes being a lot more blurred than the chain aren't strong enough eliments to take me to the boat. It's only after being led out of the picy that I come back into it & just have a general look trying to ignore the chain that the ship takes on it's place as the focal point. Wot would Bwuce know anyhow:-)

I keep looking and have decided this one is preferable because of the arcy lines. Maybe the red in the other one that we thought made the boat more attractive really works better like this, keeping the shape of the boat as the subject rather than the boat itself.

Very Good, TV

Thanks Bruce for seeing what I was after here. The one in exhibition is too static and square but I'm glad some like it. -tv

For me the first one was significantly better.

There's a lot I like in this photo, Tommy, esp. how the bright red of the boat attracts the eye away from the chain. However, I couldn't figure out why it just didn't quite seem to work for me. I think the problem is that expanse of concrete in the lower left corner, which is too well lighted. Maybe if you darkened it, the boat would seem more central to the image.

I like the swooping lines and chains. They lead the eye all through the frame. Again, the color of the light ship is perfect here.

It's a close call but I think I like the rope shot better too. Just maybe. -Doug

Damn PeeBase! I knew I had commented on this earlier Tommy and was able to go back in my browser and get what I had intended to post (see below*). It's frustrating that the known trick for speeding up commenting on PeeBase is to just click on the next image instead of waiting for ever and a day to see your post really isn't dependable as clearly some of your comments don't get through. Pee Base really needs to go I think.
*Two great images of this boat Tommy. I think I prefer this one just a little as the red hull helps the ship dominate the image I think. I noticed another great shot of this boat in exhibition and can't decide which I like best- they are both wonderful.

After seeing the other picy of this red boat it makes it hard to judge this one. The other one seemed to be in unison but the chain here seems unrelated to the boat which isn't grabbing me eye. I sort of keep looking at the chain.
