Hopefully this will make us think of composition & making the most of a subject. If that turns out to be a bit taxing then we can still shoot willy nilly with only a small requirement that we use our wide angle lenses.
This came to me mind when we had a good discussion under Brents excellent church picy which turned out perfect for an architectural picy but in my view not so much for an ahrty picy.
Easy peasy a BUT we can't use software to correct for wide angle distortions, we need to compose the picy using the distortions as essential elements in our picys. Don't just take a wide angle picy that looks normal except for the edges leaning in, we need to really investigate how to make the distortions look intentional in the picy & how ahrty it makes em look.
I expect at least one of your three picys to show the use of the wide angle distortion & then it's up to you if you then shoot landscapes or close ups or whatever that are just wide angle picys but they don't show much if any distortions which should keep the topic open for all.
If you only post one picy to this gallery then it must be wide angle distortion wiv lashings of ahrt.
Exhibition will be for picys that we haven't seen before & it will be for any type of lens from wide angle to extreme telephoto so we might get some interest in two different looking galleries.
The traitors we have amongst us that shoot with those dreaded Nikon & other nameless brand DSlrs & can only post P&S picys to Eligible will have to make at least one of their three picys using the wide angle distortion ahrty look. The posters using P&S cameras can do wotever they like.
