Now that we've been smack dab in the middle, it's time to get back to the corners and edges of the frame. Place your subjects there and better still, use compositional elements such as lines and shapes to relate the frame to the image. So be more specific, your subject should touch an edge and be concentrated into the corner. Of course, for artistic balance there may need to be other subjects or points of interest within the frame, or a strong negative space countering the off-balanced cornering of the subject. An equally satisfactory solution might be several "subjects" scattered around but always one dominent "subject" anchored in the corner.
Loosen up and be creative. I'll offer comments as soon as possible after posting which will hopefully provide clarification.
Remember: one rule is to touch or intersect the edge, say, as if the subject is partially chopped off by the edge. Second rule: absolutely no borders or extra framing.
Please see my postings in Exhibition and Pending for examples. This is an open topic as to the subject, but one meant to expand our way of seeing and break out of the standard compositional rules such as "rule of thirds" for a while. Loosen up and go for it.
