Her first solo show, Nona, opened at the National Museum for Women in Washington D.C. in 2005, and went on to a season at Urban Stages in New York City. Nona was a guest of the In Good Company Festival in London, Ontario, in 2006 with a second solo show that incorporates Nona on film.
"Over the summer of 2006 Nona starred in a one-woman film, The Nibbler, after Burt Lancaster's role in The Swimmer. Appleby looks forward to her next film project, Mrs. Buddwing, another one-woman film after the role of James Garner in Mister Buddwing."
