Mary Petty

(1899 - 1976)

Married to fellow The New Yorker cartoonist Alan Dunn.

On December 3, 1971, after having been missing for two days, Petty was found on Wards Island, New York, badly beaten and incoherent. She was left with the "mental capacity of a three year old" and lived the remainder of her life in a nursing home.

I have the Ms Peabody by the fire print still in it's original matted frame. It was my great-grandmothers brought down from NY.

I have a the 1959 copyrighted print of mrs peabody in the garden,,,,,,shown here middle row, second from the left.....in excellent condition.
