My friend and I are trying to find a Booth character named Noreen Ritterhouse, a cranky old bat who liked to chase people who annoyed her, umbrella waving. Please does anyone remember Noreen?

Can anyone help me? I am trying desperately to find the one that shows an old man in an undershirt stringing beads, with necklaces around his neck with a caption something like " he got caught up in the slipstream of Edna's life" I would be so grateful for any help locating this.

A favorite of mine had a living room full of people, all doing interesting things - reading, playing chess, listening to some music (on headphones), talking, and one man in the next room leans into the living room to say, "Hey, everybody! Prime time!"

I am trying to find an old booth cartoon where the guy is sitting in his chair, looking at the dog (or it might be the cat...), and the dog is staring intently at nothing. The caption is, "They see things we don't." Does anyone know of it? I think it's a classic - I haven't seen it in many years but have never forgotten it.

Ipgissagul was always one of my favorites. But his illustrations of frenzied animals or rapid movement always got me, too. There's a cartoon of a guy sitting in his easy chair, reading. A cat is sitting on it's haunches a few feet in front of him, staring at a point maybe a foot off to the left of his the man's head and the guy is frantically looking back and forth trying to "see" what the cat is looking at. The way his head is depicted turning back and forth is hysterical.

One of my favorites was the garage manager talking to the guy whose car was in the shop. " The men have decided, sir, that your car has an evil spirit; we've sent for a priest." Or ... same garage manager: " Well, sir, if this car was your wife, which it isn't, of course, but if it was, then I'd say, sir that your wife is going to need a valve job."

There's a great one of the deranged homeless guy with his frenzied cat leaning out of an ashcan speaking to a passerby, "Financially speaking, we've been on the decline, but spiritually we're doing much better, thank you." We had it on our various kitchen walls for years and now it's lost. Don't know how to find it.

I don't recall that one off the top of my head, but your description is so good that I can enjoy it just from hearing you mention it. George turned 80 about two months ago.

There's a George Booth cartoon that seems a signature comment on the human condition. A skinny guy with a thousand mile stare sits on a front porch in, say, rural Arkansas, and alongside sits this shorthaired dog that seems to have a fishbone stuck in his throat. No caption is offered needed.

George and I attended night classes at the CAFA (Chicago Academy of Fine Arts) together. I knew then he would become an outstanding cartoonist altho it took some years. I have most of his cartoons as printed in the New Yorker but alas no originals. His cartoons always laugh makers.
