Della had that same ball and loved it. I know a Lab who chewed the handle off and swallowed it. Because the handle is hollow on the inside the dog didn't show the true signs of an obstruction. When we did a barium series we saw the barium outline the handle. We opened up the dog and took it out and he was fine. His owner said he had chewed the handle off several months before we took it out. About a year later the dog was back in for surgery because he ate something else that got stuck. If I remember correctly, it was a sock that time.
