Beautifully composed and photographed Michael. Such nice complementary textures, shades and shapes.

Just have to love that camera and lens combo' in skilled hands? Well done Michael.

Thanks for the nice comments, deeply appreciated. I took two different doors out of Japanese kitchen tansu chests to create the base and background. The center panels are keyaki wood (zelkova) which has a very pronounced and beautiful grain which I thought complimented the shitake mushrooms. -Michael

This is very nice. Particularly with the monochrome treatment. The background pattern does compliment the mushrooms. Is that all stone, or is the backsplash made of wood? Jim H.

Nice lighting with this shot Michael, particularly the shadows adding a lot of depth to the mushrooms. - angioman

So glad to see you posting Michael, and with such a lovely shot! I like the composition, the shadows of the mushrooms, and that there is enough light to see the interesting patterns in the background (granite?) and the texture of the mushrooms themselves. Nice shot! :-) CJ
