Thanks Barry, I agree, we all get to benefit from the 'tricks' that abound in these forum.

The 'Filter/Stylize/Diffuse/Anisotropic' I find can be fun to use. It works best for me if I apply it selectively and with alternate 'Sharpening' then 'Aniso' and repeat that combo several times until the effect is achieved.

I usually wait until I reduce the image size down to 800 pxls or so because the process uses heaps of processing power. Unless you have a fast CPU and lots of RAM and 'Scratch Disk' space, then it can be a grind.

Thanks for commenting Barry, ~ Regards Bob

Well executed composite. Like the burnt tones. Thanks for the "how it was done' write up as well, I think it's great when we can all learn from each other and increase our 'bag of tricks'.
Gonna have take this 'anisotropic diffusion filter' for a little spin on my next shot.

Thanks Lydia and Mary Anne.

I operated on the word 'Fender' to the point where I actually hand painted each character using the 'smudge' tool and several operations of 'colour saturation' followed by 'anisotropic diffusion filter'.

My aim was to convert a drab flat image ( just like the other script characters below it) into a more vibrant luminous 3D image.

It is a very tedious operation but makes a significant difference I think?

Appreciate your comments, thank you ~ Regards Bob

Nice image, Bob. The various layers work well together, with "Fender" looking almost as if it's lighted from within.

Thanks Kiki and Penny, this is one logo I don't mind displaying because I have always admired their product. Beautiful instrument and so nice to play... even I can make some nice sounds... lol

Appreciate your comments ~ Regards Bob

I love this - brings back memories of my first full-time job at a music store that sold guitars and amps and all that good stuff (with fender strats going all day long)!

Me like :) Nicely done and brings back some memories.. I had a bf with a yellow Stratocaster once, and an amplifier too.. "this one goes to 11".

Thanks Trav. This is simply a composite of two photographs of my pride and joy Fender Stratocaster guitar. One of the front and the other of the rear logo.

I operated on the logo enhancing the colours and applying several combinations of edge sharpening and Anisotropic Diffusion to smooth the colour transitions in the word 'Fender'

Just cos one can.... I threaded the strings through the first two letters to give the appearance of 3D (using shadow masks).

I took these photos whilst my son Simon was playing my Strat' (Super Bullets refer to the strings fitted to this guitar)

Thanks again for your kind words, ~ Regards Bob

Humph! This is very nicely complex, Bob, I've been sitting here looking at this, trying to decipher the various layers of detail and possible meanings....this is up there with your best, I think. Best Wishes, Traveller
