It is most definately an upside Jim. I've been commuting between the Islands for 7 years, the last 3 1/2 by boat (weather permitting). It was brought about by increasing frustration with the delays and stresses of air travel and living out of a suitcase. Now on a Thursday or Friday night I cruise into the sunset (this time of year quite literally as I head west just before the sun sets). It's a great way to unwind and is also what inspired me to take up photography. -Najinsky

Taking your boat to work, what a life. Upside of living on an island I suppose. (or downside dependng on how much you enjoy boating) I woul be on mine every day if I could. We had to stop early this year. The local lake level is so low from lack of rain that the marina can no longer get boats out. Jim H2

Thankyou for the comments. It was the was the light on the railings that got my attention as the 'subject' for this entry. I have a landscape version as well which I liked better in terms of composition the OOF seemed more forced.

@JimH2 - It's the Marina where I park my boat when I'm working in Jersey. This is a wall at one edge with steps leading to a drying area (when the tide is out). This is the very spot that was covered in trash during the trash challenge and steps are where I took the entries for that challenge from.

I love the colors in this, and the light on the railing and its reflection. --Melanie

This seems to me to be exactly what Pops had in mind. Yeah its blurry, but the colors and composition are so great I don't care. Is this a tank of some sort? Jim H2

And me also....just excellent. I will use this as a model for anything I try to shoot this Challenge. Best Wishes, Traveller

This really works for me. The intrusion of the railing heading downward and its reflection in the water build a nice framework to hang the soft colors on.
