Victor, the whole area is so full of artwork, trash (neatly stored in bins) and buskers that the senses are reeling. This lady in the artwork did seem to be looking down in some confusion. To see the buskers in this location on the day I took the two photos in this gallery, go to this link:

Thanks for the explanation. I'm glad it's similar to how I imagined it and not like my first impression (wet artwork lying on the floor). Now, given your explanation, the image is even more powerful to me. She's interacting with the other artwork. Did it seem that way when you were there? -- Victor
Thanks Victor and Melbob. This was found in the same alleyway as my other image 'A Triumph of Trash', found in this gallery. It was high on the wall to the left hand side, so can't be seen in the other image. I guess it would be about a metre (3 foot) in height. Julie
Was this on the floor or a wall? What are the tiles made of? It looks like the drawing was painted over with glue to put up other stuff, some partially removed. I get the feeling this is pretty large and on a wall so that the woman is looking down on the people looking at her. On the other hand, it looks more like those tiles are about a foot across. Is that right? What is the nature of the building this drawing is attached to? It reminds me a bit of an art wall at my daughter's highschool, but not really. -- Victor
I agree, what a shame to allow it to just fade away? Like those sidewalk paintings but 'such is life'? Good capture Julie and appropriate title too! ~ Regards Melbob
Good capture, Julie. That drawing represents a good amount of someone's time (and talent!) and it's painful to see it wasting away in such a manner.
