Yes, the burning job is kind of rough. For some reason, it shows up differently in pbase than it does on my computer. I had also thought about cropping the photo just below her bosom but thought this version underscored her sensuousness. It's been awhile since I read the book (never saw the movie!), and I didn't remember just how young she was. Also, this girl is much thinner than she looks here...probably the 28mm makes her look heavier...something else I'd like to adjust. I'd say that this is a work in progress, but the challenge closes today, and I have to leave for class shortly. So, thanks for the comments and suggestions...I may or may not be able to make any changes, but I learn a bit more with each challenge.

Nice shot and setting.. love that bench. Overall: Brave.. but not brave enough?
In the book, Dolores is described as frail, 12 y.o., and a little dumb and vulgar. Humbert thinks of her as seductive. The pose here otoh, is a little prudent, and the model strikingly busty. Clothes, socks and wristband helps, but sitting makes her hips and thighs look broad, adding to the impression that she's post-teen rather than pre-teen. I think I would have focused on decreasing her bosom in PP first.
Nitpick: the burning job to the left is very distracting and doesn't go all the way down to the bottom left corner. Is that supposed to be a peep hole?
This is very good Mary Anne...but maybe not for the reasons you might think. For me it puts a different physical reality on the subject than what is commonly thought...I believe the subject, I believe the title...and that is what makes this so very interesting. I'll probably have to vote for this because of the way it changes a person's thinking. A different perspective....very, very cool. Best wishes, traveller
