Thanks Kiki, You pretty much nailed why I reshot :) The earlier version used the same stone as this one (it has a slight pink tint, as in the movie), but I did a mistake of mixing tungsten light with white light then and had messed up my WB for the stone. Simple PS would not fix it, unless I did selections and masking and then work on it (slightly more that I wanted to) so I just reshot it with white light.

I too like this version better. I happened to see the previous version before you titled it. And couldn't for my bare life guess what that title might be - didn't realize it was a diamond! Too orange. I wondered if it was bread or chips :P This new version I have no problem "guessing" - this looks like a real raw diamond. The blood is very stylish. Real blood isn't transparent like that but it's a good effect and a comfortable abstraction. A 100% realistic blood-look might just be too gory.
