Snow Falling on Cedars

PP - conversion from raw to b&w in Adobe Camera Raw CS3 beta, remaining PP done in Photoshop CS3 beta, local contrast adjustment, duplicate layer set to multiply mode and faded to 30%, extensive dodging and burning on a separate overlay layer of 50% grey to accentuate shape of the primary tree and riverbank. Finished with a selenium tone to cool the image.

Yes, CJ, along the banks of the Merced River running through Yosemite Valley. The snow was falling heavily, but I just tossed a towel over the camera and waded into the snow up to my knees. Everywhere you look is beautiful in the valley. -Michael

Another lovely image - taken in Yosemite? Love the tones in this. CJ
