I drive a Mini Cooper, so I am very familiar with dirty hatchbacks and wiper arcs! I would love to see you shoot this again when you have more time to spend. A little light on the front end to show some detail around the lights might be nice. One comment regarding the advertising part: I think you could have done without the headline. A sinister shot like this, with the H and Type R highlighted really does say everything we need to know. - bee1000

The arched line is window graphics, too...RIGHT??? ;p

Yes it is a line of window graphics. But look at the arch line the windscreen wiper has left. If I had cleaned it (ie done the job properly) you wouldn't see it.

I just thought that was window graphics on the back window, that is what it is isn't it;)

No I know you didn't, but bee did. I didn't think anyone would notice it...

I didn't make the dirty window comment, looks clean to me. I have much respect for everyone who has entered, especially those working over their lunch breaks.

I like the shots, and professionalism of your work, and I am not trying to be critical of your work, or anyone else's. In your work, I know that you are a really good designer, that isn't even the question, just curious as to the decisions and whys, not really that anything is right, or wrong. It is more a thing about learning. It is especially cool to see how people solve design problems around the world.

I would love to see the productions shots.

OK, I killed the lighting on the mirrors and re-uploaded it. You're a hard lot to please. If you think the back window is dirty, you should have seen the bugs on the front spoiler ;) Another good reason to light it this way! Didn't have time to wash it, the shots were done in a quick half hour at lunchtime. If I have a moment I'll post some *in production* shots for you afterwards Chris. They may explain a few things.

Really nice. I agree with the earlier comment about the harsh light on the side mirrors. Seems like it could be softened somehow (don't ask me!). One other quibble: Couldn't you have washed the back window before you took the shot? - bee1000

Iso, nice. First, I want to say that I like the design, nice and clean. I am a bit curious about the w? at the end of the tagline. It looks a bit awkward. The other thing that I am noticing is the lighting, I love the warmer lighting across the bottom, at the transition from the black to the grey. I think that the lighting on the side seems too cold an fake, or like a police spot is on them (hey maybe I am on to something), and the light above seems a little cold. The other thing about the light above is it seems to mee that the source is a little too close to the edge of the image. What I mean by that is that I really like the beams coming down but the bloom of the light seems a bit off to me.

All that said, I know that compression is not doing any favors. I also really like how you highlighted and brought out the grill symbols.

I would love to hear your thinking behind the image, and my comments are meant with much respect.

I like this ad iso. It's as if the divine light has descended to enlighten us about the Honda Type R. I like how everything is b/w except for the Honda logo and the "R" - it really directs the eye. Nice composition - Very effective. CJ
