Great photography with excellent lighting. Orange background is a bit intense for me, especially advertising a red product. This serves to highlight the chrome more rather than the lipstick. Somehow though, it still comes together OK as it is.

More stunningly professional work Vikas. Are you trying to win the challenge or a new career? What makes this for me is the loose top leaning against the body. -Najinsky

Give me 5 years Vikas and I will catch up with you...hopefully. I'm aiming to produce pictures like these. For the mean time, what a great photo it is --- aam1234

Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and suggestions on this photograph and greatly appreciate them.

Traveller, thank you for your kindest words, mean a lot to me and thank you once again for them. Also, got rid of the extra comma as suggested. :- )

Thefly, thank you! Regarding lipcolor as one word, just went with what Maybelline have on their site including the copy. This is at:http://www.maybelline.co.uk/products/lips/l29l70l71l244l457.htm

Chris, once again, THANK YOU. Have cleared the muddiness. Regarding the fonts, have played around some and removed the drop shadow on the top two lines and have kept them simple. Wanted the copy to be slightly different from the company name.. hence.

Lonnit, thank you! :- ) Regarding the copy, this time I didn’t even try and come up with anything, just took it from their webpage which pretty much states what I have on the top. Not the greatest copy for sure, let me see if I can come up with something better. :- )

Nico, thank you! Sure hope I can someday see even one of my photographs in an advert. Now that would be awesome for sure.

Thanks Phil, appreciate it. Regarding lipcolor, the website states it as one word and the copy I lifted directly from therehttp://www.maybelline.co.uk/products/lips/l29l70l71l244l457.htm
Regarding the company name, I didn’t want it in caps; prefer it this way so went with lower case (don’t know why but am partial to lowercase for more impact). Regarding the black outline on the fonts, have played around with it a little, hope its better now.

Cat, thanks a lot and will keep the ‘r’ in mind. :- )

Cheers, Vikas.

A great job here too!
Not much to add than what is already said here. Well done.
Psst..Psst... don't forget the 'R' symbol if you are going to use maybelline logo.

Well, seeing as you invited me, Trav, it'd be rude not to eh?
I must admit I don't feel the same about this one as "Garnier" - I nit-picked that one because the image is just *so* professional looking that I felt the copy ought to be perfect too. This one just doesn't have the same emotional impact for me.
If I'm going to be really picky, then I think the "," in the copy ought probably be a ";"
Oh, and according to the Maybelline website (yes, I am that sad!) it's "Lip Color" (or Lip Colour for those of us not in the US!)
And, oddly enough, the company logo is all caps (including "NEW YORK"), whereas you've used all lower case...
Finally, I think the black outline doesn't work at this size - surely just because of the image compression.
Sorry to come off sounding so negative - I actually didn't intend to comment at all, and feel slightly guilty because the lipsticks themselves are perfectly shot (as always when it comes to Vikas).

Vikas, what more can be said? It is simply brilliant. World-class and can feature in any high-quality magazine anywhere. Congratulations. ~jnconradie

Hummm, the Copy is a little awkward, isn't it? Maybe a period after color, and then, That's why moisture extreme without the extra coma. I don't know, just thinkin`.

I love the picture, and the whole thing as a unit. My only issue is the copy; that line of text is not very professionally written. LOL! But, since you're a brilliant photog and an all-around great guy, and this is a photography challenge not an advertising copy challenge, I really couldn't give a crap what that blurb says! The visual is superb!!! Kudos!

Poor, Poor Vikas...here I am calling everyone out to pick on him while I sit serenely in the background...lol.

However, Chris is one smart fellow, and so if it's anyone on your tail, it's always best that that person be insightful and smart. Which is not to say that I agree with his analysis...honest people can honestly disagree.

Phil, you want to chime in?

Best Wishes, Traveller

Vikas,

With the exception of the finger print...just kidding. Okay, this is a really nice shot. I would like to see a little more 'moisture' maybe done with greater shine in the actual lipstick, but I think that the holders are dead on. The muddiness of the couple of pixels above the black line at the bottom could be cleaned up. I think that the Fly is right about Lip Color, but I am not sure. I would pick one way to do the font, not both, I think that the treatment of the type at the bottom is more professional (no offense to Traveller). I am not sure what is going on with the line around the font at the bottom, but it is different than the top. Anyway, you don't need the drop shadow on the font, but if you do, try it on both. Also, the line around the smaller type on the top seems a bit strong in comparison to the type directly above, and grey's out the letters.

Well done.
Mr T. asked for it so here is my lame attempt. Should lip color be two words?

Vikas, you are bound and determined to win 3 in a row aren't you?....lol I particularly like the background color choice and the lettering with vague shadows around them. Just excellent.

However, I do call on all others to try to nit pick this one. Maybe I'm wrong, but while there were minor imperfections in the Garnier image....I don't think that there are any here.

Come on now, give Vikas your best shot!

Smiling,

Traveller
