11-AUG-2006 Traveller

# 3 *

As I think about it, this image relates back to a conversation I was having with Mr. Conradie in the last Challenge...I have some nice face studies, I even laid on the floor and asked her to bend over me and pretend that she was my lover...but everything was portrait-like. Again, from a Philosophical basis of trying to convey as much information as possible...I prefer this series because it is all here...the color, the scissors, the template, the iron and her seen honestly in her surroundings, and at what is happy labor for her.

Neat color in this shot with a nice happy face. I like it! She looks like someone one would like to know!

Exuberant is certainly the word for her...lol. And colorful. Best Wishes, Traveller

Very colorful and has the exuberant feeling to it

Traveller, I too like the environment you captured. I wasn't suggesting "blurring", I was suggesting a little "burning" of the corners...just a tad of darkening at the corners would add depth, in my opinion. -Michael

Dearest Michael: In the morning light, this looks almost too colorful for me, though that was its prime attraction last night. Also, upon further reflection, my goals seem to be more writerly than photographic...the desire to catch the person in their setting, the surroundings being as important as and definitional of the person...may be correct or not. This is something I will have to think on.

Blurring the edges? Hummmmmm...Best Wishes, Traveller

Traveller, you pretty well summed it up in your caption and I agree. I most certainly feel that her smile is genuine and related to her activity/environment, well done for being able to capture that feeling. I do think a bit of soft burning at the corners would give the image a bit more depth. -Michael
