That little guy is a born comedian! :D A most ...interesting looking bird. Well captured, I like the colors too. -Arn

There is something about this composition that I find to be very pleasing. Just great! Jim H.

Thanks, Matt. Shot from the car window with hands as steady as possible. Indeed, a tripod would have worked so much better. The picture is definitely too "soft" in many places. Regards ~jnconradie

Nice steady hand. Or was it on tripod? Cool bird shot anyway.

South Africa looks like a fun place to be!

Matt.

Awesome capture. Nice round movement in the frame between the beak and the branches. -Michael

Thanks, Larry. I am afraid I cannot answer your question. I scanned the other shots I took, but it seems as if this one never bothered to change its position - until it just took off all of a sudden and flew away. Is the breast feathers' colour a gender thing, or sub-species identification...? Sorry, I guess I should know. ~jnconradie

From someone who loves taking wildlife pictures, this is a wonderful composition of a beautiful Hornbill. I really like how the curved branches compliment the Hornbill's beak. Out of curiosity, what color is his breast? ~Larry

Thanks for the complimentary feedback. (It would be wonderful if the unidentified commentator would also add his/her name so that I would know whom to thank for the "awesome" comment.) Regards ~jnconradie

What a wonderful bird! Love his yellow curved beak. Works perfectly with the blue sky and his BW feathers. Ann C

This is a great Hornbill picture Nico! It puts my Blackbird picture in exhibition to shame! I like how the curve of the bill is echoed by the curves in the branches. :-) CJ

Spectacular bird. This suits a square crop really well. These birds look like they are all beak. ~Harvey
