Absolutely - I hate to be disappointed like that. Oddly, hubby said to me today that there was an article in the paper that there are only 11 organ grinders left in the US. I thought it was amusing b/c I'd just seen this image only an hour or so before. ~ Lonnit

Thanks, I think ;) I guess it's better than having an exciting thumbnail with a boring photo.

I'd been skipping the thumbnail on this b/c it just did not look interesting. What a pleasant surprise when the full image opened. :) ~ Lonnit

I uploaded an updated version of this image. I added a dodge layer, to further increase the contrast between the background and the subject.

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe a neutral background was your goal, in which case, never mind . -- Victor

Thanks Victor, and I will try your suggestion, but really I wanted the background to go to a very neutral, low-contrast tone, so the main subject would be the strongest area of contrast, and really stand out.

This is a good example of an image where processing can make a big difference in the final outcome. As processed, the flowers and the leaves have about the same level. Most likely, using channel mixer, you can achieve a higher contrast between the flowers and the leaves. Experiment with different channel mixer settings in the original. You likely can get a much more striking image than what you have here. -- Victor
