I caught sight of these two young people sitting atop the beacon to our harbour. They had obviously taken a detour on the way home from school to be alone. The shot was taken from across the harbour using a 300mm with a 1.4x TC.
Thank you, Michael. I appreciate your kind words. I had been looking across the harbour at the beacon, the light and the reflection. I had not even noticed the kids at the top. It was my wife who brought them to my attention and when I mounted the lens and had a look, I could see them dangling their legs. I thought their presence completed the image. At least it did for me.

At first I thought the title referred to the water birds, but hey, it works for them too. The bright sun and deep shadow on the beacon give it real shape and definition which I think adds significantly to the image. -Michael
